Friend,
I am a 66-year-old Vietnam-era Marine Corps Veteran residing in North Raleigh.
I have taken two oaths of allegiance in my life, one when I became a citizen upon coming to this country with my family in 1965 and the other when I was inducted into the military in 1974.
Both oaths encompassed ethical values, loyalty, and honor to God, country, and family. Courage is one such value, which represents the willingness to stand up for what one believes, even in the face of strong opposition.
I am voting for Josh Stein because he personifies that very value when he stands up to pharmaceutical companies, polluters, and the Trump administration, to name a few, in order to protect us.
I believe what is missing in our country today is the commitment to core ethical values that all people should strive to achieve, such as honesty, kindness, respect and personal responsibility. I believe that we need people like Josh who stand by those values and stand up for everyday Americans -- like me.
