Dear Friend ,

As Election Day approaches and reproductive health access hangs in the balance across the country, it's never been more important to elect local leaders who will fight to make sure our community has access to the sexual and reproductive healthcare we need to thrive. Here in DC, Planned Parenthood Advocates for DC, Maryland & NoVa has endorsed and rated candidates for DC Council [[link removed]] across several key races.

Robert White for DC Council At-Large

In Councilmember White's first term, he has proven himself an effective leader and champion of voting rights, maternal health, and racial and social justice. He also voted to expand access to contraception and protect the reproductive rights of DC residents, and PPADMV is proud to support his re-election.

Voters will elect TWO At-Large Councilmembers in this election though, so be sure to vote for two candidates in the At-Large race. PPADMV rated ten additional candidates for the At-Large race based on responses to our questionnaire, and we recommend checking out our ratings [[link removed]] as well as the DC Working Family Party's DC Voter Guide [[link removed]] for progressive voters as you consider your second vote.

Brooke Pinto for DC Council Ward 2

When Councilmember Pinto was elected this June in a special election, she became the youngest person ever elected to the DC Council and the first woman to represent Ward 2. She has a strong platform with commitments to protect reproductive rights, fight for maternal health, and promote menstrual equity, and PPADMV looks forward to working with her on these and other issues.

Janeese Lewis George for DC Council Ward 4

Although she has not yet been elected to the Council, Janeese Lewis George has already established herself as a powerful champion for her community and leader on countless social justice issues. She is a strong advocate of affordable childcare, combatting the Black maternal mortality crisis, and ensuring high quality education for DC students, and PPADMV is excited to support her candidacy.
