** The makings of an entrepreneur: the story of Reebok
Tuesday, 27th October 2020 at 6.00pm UK time
------------------------------------------------------------
Reebok is one of the most recognisable global brands, adorning world class athletes, celebrities, and millions of consumers across the world. But it wasn’t always like that. Founded by two brothers in Bury, England in 1958, Reebok is a story of hard work, grit and determination, and ingenuity. It is a tale of how an entrepreneurial spirit morphed into a global powerhouse.
Dr Eamonn Butler, Adam Smith Institute Director and author of An Introduction to Entrepreneurship ([link removed]〈=en-GB#page=&zoom=75&pagemode=) , is joined by Reebok founder Joe Foster, one of Britain’s greatest entrepreneurs to discuss his story, as told in his book Shoemaker: The Untold Story of the British Family Firm that Became a Global Brand ([link removed]) .
We are also joined by Philip Salter, Founder of The Entrepreneurs Network ([link removed]) to discuss the power of entrepreneurship, what drives entrepreneurs and the challenges they face, and the ways in which we can ensure it flourishes.
Join us at 6pm UK time to learn more about the story behind Reebok, Joe and his legacy, and a larger discussion about the nature of entrepreneurship.
The event is entirely free to attend but you must secure a ticket to avoid disappointment.
