John,
I ran for president for the same reason I ran for mayor of South Bend: because I wanted to make a difference in people's lives.
I know that's why Sara Gideon is running for United States Senate too -- and why she ran for the state legislature and got involved in public service in the first place.
It's because Sara Gideon wants to get things done for Maine.
But it's pretty much impossible to get anything done in Washington right now with Mitch McConnell in charge. He's blocking progress on all the issues we care so deeply about -- health care, voting rights, and reproductive freedom.
That's why I'm personally reaching out to you to ask you to help Sara Gideon win in Maine and retake this Senate seat. It is so important. So please:
Make a contribution of any amount you can afford to support Sara Gideon's campaign for Senate. I promise every donation makes a difference, no matter the amount.

We have to do everything in our power to make sure we elect leaders who will fight for us -- especially during these challenging times.
We need leaders who will stand up to Donald Trump and his divisive rhetoric by enacting policies that will protect the most vulnerable populations and unite Americans. And we deserve leaders who will save lives and advance our country by listening to scientists on matters ranging from COVID to climate change.
Sara Gideon is that leader. So please, chip in to support her campaign if you can:

Thank you for all you do to support Sara. I know Sara's team appreciates it deeply.
And remember, while these are certainly challenging times, we will make it through this. Together.
All my best,
Pete Buttigieg
Former Mayor of South Bend, Indiana
Former Democratic Candidate for President
