[[link removed]]Dear John,
Today, American Rivers is joining members of the Karuk, Yurok, Klamath and Hoopa
Valley Tribes, fishermen, Klamath river users, and conservation organizations to
support a day of action for the Klamath River.
We are calling on PacifiCorp and parent company Berkshire Hathaway to keep their
promise to remove their four dams on the Klamath. Will you join us?

For more than 100 years, four dams – Copco 1, Copco 2, Iron Gate and JC Boyle –
have blocked salmon from 420 miles of habitat and spawning areas. They create
toxic outbreaks of cyanobacteria, which can be deadly for people, pets, fish and
wildlife. These dams have devastated what was once the third largest
salmon-producing river on the West Coast, and a vital resource for Native
American tribes.

Removing these dams matters. It matters for the people who live along the river.
It matters for the salmon and steelhead that need clean water and access to
habitat. And, it should matter to PacifiCorp to permanently remove liabilities
that will require expensive water quality improvements and fish passage
facilities if the dams are not removed.
Please speak up today

For the rivers,
Thank you,
