Friends,
It’s hard to look past the 2020 presidential election. Trust me. I get it. With this campaign season has come a very special mix of anxiety, anticipation, and political fatigue.
(Have you voted? Do you have a plan to vote? My husband and I are headed to early in-person voting at the Government Center this morning.)
Life will keep moving no matter the outcome on November 3. And so we’re using our November general meeting to discuss the work we will continue to do at the state level no matter who occupies the White House come January.
Join us on November 5 at 7:30 p.m. for a conversation about the Virginia Green New Deal with Jolene Mafnas, Food & Water Watch NOVA organizer. Register for the meeting here.
Jolene will share with us the issues this year’s suite of Green New Deal bills will cover and how we can advocate for them (virtually) when the General Assembly session begins in January. We’ll be sure to allot plenty of time for Q&A.
We will, of course, also dedicate some time to talking through the November 3 election—whether we have results in hand or not. And we have some brief updates on the CECAP process and the 2020 Plastic Free Challenge (which wraps up next week).
RSVP is required to receive the Zoom link for the meeting. RSVP here.
We hope you'll join us November 5!
Julie
