Not only has Secretary Ross threatened to fire scientists for contradicting President Trump’s false statements on Hurricane Dorian’s path, but it looks like President Trump himself was the one who put him on the case to ‘clarify’ the forecast.
Folks in the White House, in the midst of a Hurricane, were trying to silence subject matter experts and scientists from telling the American people the truth about the storm’s path. All to protect Trump’s ego.
This is an outrage. And — again —another example of what is at stake in 2020, and another reason why our movement MUST succeed in next year’s election.
But if we’re going to win our fight to reclaim the Republican Party and restore dignity to the presidency, we need to know that you’ve got our back. Can you rush a donation of $20.20 right now to help us win this fight? <[link removed]>

Team —
Amidst Trump’s false claims about Hurricane Dorian’s path, and his subsequent attempts to prove that he was correct, it looks like — according to the New York Times — Secretary of Commerce Wilbur Ross threatened to fire experts to stop folks from discrediting Trump’s erroneous statement.
After Trump tweeted out falsely that Dorian was headed towards Alabama, the National Weather Service office in Birmingham sent a tweet correcting the record and contradicting the president. According to the reporting, this led Secretary Ross to threaten to fire scientists in charge of providing Americans, our government, and first responders with accurate forecasts of natural disasters.
This politicization of science, fact, and truth has got to stop. We can not have the president and his henchmen interfering with the work of subject matter experts, especially when people’s lives are on the line.
These childish games have real-world consequences, they impact how states and localities prepare for disasters, and impact the faith Americans have in their government.
This is just another example of what is at stake in 2020, and another reason why we need our movement to succeed in next year’s election. But if we want to make President Trump a one-term president, we’re going to need your help.
Can you chip in $20.20 right now to show President Trump and Secretary Ross that you’re sick and tired of them playing political games with the truth? <[link removed]>
