Hi Friend,
It’s cooling off here in Anchorage and I can really feel it after the summer we’ve had. I’m sure I don’t need to tell you that we just had one of the hottest summers on record! But while some of us did enjoy the warmer temps, the sad reality is Alaska is ground zero for the red flags for the dangers of climate change.
I know fishing is central to many of our lives. I fish next to many of you and know what this could mean to not just our recreation, but our Alaskan livelihoods and economy. This summer, river temperatures were so warm, salmon were dying.

In addition to these rising temperatures, coastal erosion, melting permafrost, and broken ice on our river systems are all threatening the daily life of our communities.
Meanwhile, even after over 40 years in Congress, Don Young continues to do nothing about climate change.
I’m running for Congress to be a voice for Alaskans and to make it clear that climate change is hurting our state and we need solutions that tackle this imminent threat.
I’ve said this before and I’ll say it again here, Alaska is ground zero for the negative effects of global climate change. Don Young denies climate change is related to human behavior. He won’t even come home to look at the damage climate change has done and will continue to do. I need your help. Donate today to help me get to Congress and fight for real climate change solutions.
So many of our livelihoods depend on Alaska’s unique environment. Climate change’s impact on our tourism and fishing industries cannot and will not be dismissed.
Gratefully,
Alyse Galvin
