Tonight President Trump and Joe Biden are taking part in the final presidential debate of the 2020 campaign. The debate is being moderated by NBC News White House correspondent Kristen Welker.

Welker has chosen the following topics: fighting the coronavirus pandemic, American families, race in America, climate change, national security, and leadership.

This was originally scheduled to be the third debate of the 2020 Election, but the second debate was canceled after Trump refused to take part in a virtual debate following his COVID-19 diagnosis.

The presidential debate commission has announced that microphones will be muted for Trump and Biden during the first two minutes of their opponent’s response in each of the six sections. This is an effort to avoid the chaotic, interruption-filled scene that unfolded at the first debate, when Trump interrupted Biden well over 100 times.

Democracy Now! will air debate excerpts with in-depth discussion and analysis on Friday’s live broadcast at 8 a.m. ET.
