Friend,
Just like in 2016, the corporate media is saying that Trump can’t win, and just like in 2016, that’s simply not true.
Trump may be losing the national popular vote, but in key battleground states like Florida, polls are within the margin of error, meaning the race is statistically tied.
And that's not even counting the effects of voter suppression.
Polls don't factor in the ballots that aren't delivered because of U.S. Postal Service delays or the people who try to vote but give up because they can't wait in line for 11 hours. And the polls certainly don't account for Donald Trump refusing to accept the results of a contested election, with the Justice Department and the Republican-packed Supreme Court pulling every legal lever in his favor.
This is no time for “both sides” corporate media that's too committed to phony balance to call out authoritarianism. That's why the independent, nonprofit journalism of Common Dreams is so essential in this moment.
Common Dreams is fighting for a free and fair election by reporting every instance of voter suppression and telling our readers what they can do to fight back. This isn't information that the forces behind Donald Trump and that control the corporate media want you to have.
We count on our readers, not corporate advertisers, to fund our work. Donate now to help meet our Fall Fundraising Drive goal of $80,000 by November 2 and make sure we have the resources to watchdog the integrity of this election through Election Day and beyond.
