Remember the promises – thirteen thousand jobs, a statewide economic boon, innovation centers in communities across Wisconsin, a new Silicon Valley of the Midwest?

A recent article in The Verge on Monday reveals the scale of the catastrophe Republican leadership at every level – from President Trump to Scott Walker to Assembly Speaker Robin Vos – unleashed on Wisconsin.

Today, not a single LCD screen has been built. But families were forced out of their homes to make way for a campus that was never fully built, environmental safeguards that protect critical wetlands and Great Lakes water were dismantled, and hundreds of millions of tax payers dollars were squandered – all for cheap political points.

Wisconsin deserves better than this failed leadership.

Even after the abject failure of Foxconn became clear, Vos committed to the lie that it would eventually benefit his constituents, who now have to deal with just 281 jobs created (and many since laid off) at the expense of Wisconsin taxpayers and our environment. 

The massive lot sitting empty in Mount Pleasant is a monument to Robin Vos’ incompetent leadership as Assembly Speaker – a tangible symbol of his ballooning list of failures that include a growing drinking water crisis affecting thousands of Wisconsin families and COVID-19 spreading unchecked across the state as he sits on his hands. 

He should be ashamed. But he had the audacity to ask voters for a veto-proof majority when this election cycle began – and he committed unprecedented millions of dollars to get it. 

With just days left before Election Day, Robin Vos’ plan is backfiring, and strong pro-conservation candidates in six key Assembly districts across the state are surging, giving us the opportunity to FLIP anti-conservation seats and hand Vos his biggest electoral defeat EVER.
