In a few moments, I am going to ask you to add a donation to my re-election campaign before the final fundraising deadline of this election. But let me quickly explain why this request is so important:
By now you’ve probably heard that a new poll released yesterday shows my right-wing opponent within one point of our campaign.
It’s not a surprise after GOP dark money groups have invested so much money in negative TV ads designed to turn me into something I’m not. And we know they’re going to dump even more money into Minnesota after this latest poll.
But I know we're going to win this election because of grassroots supporters like you. And look, I’m never going to send you a message saying the sky is falling to get you to donate. I hate that kind of thing — and that’s not the attitude I want to have as we close out this election.
If we stay focused and continue to talk about the important issues affecting the people of Minnesota, then there’s nothing the other side can do to stop us. That’s the only reason I’m asking you to step up today:

Yes, it’s one poll, but I’m sure there will be a few more to follow in the closing days. With numbers like these, just one poll could send a message to the two right-wing groups spending big to attack me to keep doing what they’re doing — and it’ll likely get them to cut another giant check.
The last thing I want is for our campaign to get caught flat-footed during these final days. Let’s make sure we’re ready for anything.
