I'm not a politician, John, not like others who've gone to Washington.

I'm a first-generation immigrant who grew up in a small town outside of Cleveland, Ohio. My parents brought our family here from India with nothing, but, through lots of hard work and sacrifice, they were able to help my brother and me realize our American Dreams.

I learned about the power of empathy and public service from my mother, a social worker focused on the elderly. I went to medical school, became an ER doctor, and, with my husband, settled down in Arizona where we've lived for more than 24 years. All three of our kids were born and raised in the Valley. After losing both my mother and nephew to cancer, I eventually shifted my focus onto cancer research advocacy.

I've seen firsthand how people suffer inside the walls of hospitals, as well as outside. A broken health care system and an economic system that only serves the wealthy few have forced people into increasingly desperate, heartbreaking situations.

When I first became a doctor, I took an oath to help others and put people first. I can't, and won't, stand by and watch the GOP undermine our progress. I have to do more.

That's why I'm running to flip Arizona's 6th Congressional District blue. It's long overdue to give the families of this district a leader they can finally trust -- trust to have integrity, to fight for us, and to do what's right.

I'm refusing to accept a single penny from corporate PACs because I never want there to be a question of who I serve. The answer is, and always will be, you.

Together, we will fight to expand access to quality, affordable health care, make our tax system fairer to the middle class and small businesses, and get rid of dark money from our politics for good.

But this race hasn't been easy, that's for sure. We have faced, and still are facing, mountains of outside spending as special interests and corporate billionaires do everything they can to keep their extreme grip on power in Washington.

This is one of the most competitive races of 2020, one of the 10 most likely to flip...but only if we keep our momentum strong! We need a surge of grassroots support to overcome the nasty attacks and flip AZ-06 blue in just 12 days. Can I count on you to chip in to help us today?
