John,
Politicians who press for high immigration and low enforcement like to self-righteously wrap themselves with arguments that they are working for disadvantaged minorities. In truth, they are working for "post-American" international corporations whose commitment is no more to minority groups than it is to American workers in general.
And recent polling (see below) shows again that American minorities arent being fooled. When you think about it, John, it shouldn't come as any surprise that, for instance, Hispanic voters are every bit as opposed to the government allowing companies to bring in foreign workers instead of hiring American workers. After all, those who can vote are citizens already -- most were BORN here -- and they're more likely to be harmed directly by the competition for jobs.
We need your help. We need politicians to know that voters, regardless of their ethnicity or country of origin, want all Americans to prosper. NumbersUSA works to reduce immigration. We don't take a position on where immigrants come from. We do care about reforming the immigration system to better preserve American jobs and resources without overburdening infrastructure.
All of our NumbersUSA faxing and emailing and phone banks and Congressional Gradecards and Candidate Comparisons are funded by NumbersUSA Action, our more political 501c4 group. See, John, despite what the media says, minority voters actually want lower immigration. Voters are individuals who hear from their own trusted sources, weigh their own concerns, and make their own decisions. Politicians need to earn the support of their voters by accomplishing things that make their voters' lives better.
Massive, uncontrolled immigration hurts American workers. That's why Black and Hispanic voters are at least as likely to oppose increased immigration as White voters.
This month, Rasmussen asked, "When businesses say they are having trouble finding Americans to take jobs in construction, manufacturing, hospitality and other service work, what is generally best for the country? Is it better for businesses to raise the pay and try harder to recruit non-working Americans even if it causes prices to rise, or is it better for the government to bring in new foreign workers to help keep business costs and prices down?"
Black voters chose hiring Americans over continuing to import workers by a 62%-19% margin. Hispanic voters agreed by a 65%-26% majority.
Rasmussen also asked, "Should Congress increase the number of foreign workers taking higher-skill U.S. jobs or does the country already have enough talented people to train and recruit for most of those jobs?"
Black voters said to hire Americans by 64% to 24% margin. Hispanic voters agreed by a 60% to 34% majority.
Are you surprised by these results? Some of us in this office might have been if we hadn't seen similar results in our own polling, or if we hadn't talked to so many of our supporters who are ethnic minorities or are in families with ethnic minorities.
There are many Americans who support open-borders politicians because they have been led to think high immigration is doing what is right for minorities. We have much more work to do to change this false media-created narrative. We need your continued help.
We urgently need your help TODAY. Immediately, on Election Night, politicians will start thinking about the results. Whoever wins, we need them to understand that they have to make the lives of their constituents better.
