Hi, John . Right now, many of us are worried about the increasing bias faced by LGBTQ and other vulnerable populations. There are 8 million LGBTQ students returning to school this fall, and almost half do not have access to life-changing support provided by a GSA or other LGBTQ student-led club. Across the country, there’s a growing need for affirming school resources and leadership opportunities for LGBTQ students, and lots of us are asking, “ How can I help? ” Making a donation to GLSEN is one of the most impactful actions you can take on behalf of LGBTQ youth— and a critical investment you can make in their futures. [[link removed]] As a teacher and GSA advisor, I have seen how vital affirming and safe spaces are for LGBTQ young people. GLSEN provides resources and support to educators and students, and improves school climates by creating cultures of inclusion and respect. Will you join in supporting LGBTQ students? When my school’s GSA was established, our LGBTQ students thrived, and our entire school community improved thanks to a more open and accepting culture. John , the LGBTQ student leaders in my school and schools across the country need your help protecting the affirming school cultures they’ve worked so hard to create.
