Dear Friend,

Over 1700 people.

Over 1700 people from across the globe signed up to join together on Tuesday night in light and spirit and song to commemorate the legacy of Yitzhak Rabin and the pursuit of peace that marked the final chapter of his long life.

When APN started planning this event in the summer, we thought we might bring together an audience of several hundred supporters. We knew that we were planning to gather at a time when many would be consumed by the U.S. election, not to mention the global pandemic. We couldn't have known that Israel would be under lockdown and anti-Netanyahu protests would be raging, nor could we have predicted quite how violent and dark the final weeks of the U.S. election season would be.

With all of this happening, never would we have imagined that over 1700 people would join us one evening in late October to remind us all that the dream of peace continues.

It was a coming together of friends and artists from both here and Israel, united in the desire to see peace in our time. Musicians *David Broza and Ali Paris* – an Israeli Jew and a Palestinian - opened the evening, with David closing us out with his iconic peace anthem "Yihye Tov". In between, we were treated to songs from *Achinoam Nini* (internationally known as Noa), who performed at that tragic peace rally in 1995, plus *Netta Barzilai*'s passionate performance and *Peter Yarrow*'s soulful reminder of where our hopes reside.

We were treated to readings of the words of Rabin himself from *Joshua Malina*, as well as inspiring remarks from *Congressman Jamie Raskin* and *Attorney General Keith Ellison*, *Rabbi Sharon Brous*, *Ginna Green*, former Palestinian Authority *Minister Ashraf Al-Ajrami* and *Randi Weingarten*, *Noa Rothman*, granddaughter of Yitzhak Rabin, and of course, APN Board member *Mandy Patinkin *reminded us of his ferocious commitment to achieving peace in our lifetime.

We could not have asked for a more passionate, talented and committed group of speakers and singers to join us for an evening dedicated to peace. We are delighted to be able to share a private *YouTube link *HERE* [ [link removed] ]* so that you can watch it.

And when my partner in this work, *Shaqued Morag*, Executive Director of Peace Now, and our Israeli friends and colleagues at Peace Now lit the candles in Kikar Rabin in Tel Aviv, and behind our screens, we, too, lit candles to signify our belief that peace is still the answer, I was reminded of how proud I am to have joined you at Americans for Peace Now this year.

While being virtual meant we couldn't be together in person, it meant that we could be together with so many hundreds more across the world. It meant that our Israeli partners could stand for us in Tel Aviv, as together we remembered the events of November 4, 1995. And that we could pledge together to always remember Prime Minister Rabin's legacy, and work towards peace.

Thank you for being a part of that pledge, and for your ongoing support of APN. *Your gift to APN* [ [link removed] ] helps us continue the journey to peace that Yitzhak Rabin and so many others have pursued. We are here, working towards peace every day, because of you.

Sincerely,

Hadar Susskind

*PS*: Your generous *donation [ [link removed] ]* to APN helps us to offer thoughtful, engaging programming, both in webinar form and someday again in person in your city. And it provides funding to formulate the policy plans and outreach strategies needed to advocate for change, and push through the stumbling blocks on the path to peace. Thank you again for your support.

*PPS:* For the next week, you can even *text "rabin" to 50155* to make a donation to APN!
