John,
Many of the top 100 people with the largest followings on Twitter are using social media to help get out the vote. But others are staying shamefully silent.

Voting is our most basic way to shape the country. It’s how we protect our basic rights and ensure that everyone in our communities enjoys the same freedoms and protections under the law. And yet, only about half of all Americans actually vote, far behind participation in other countries.1
We know there are forces trying to suppress the vote and feed people false information. We can counter that by getting celebrities — who have enormous social media followings — to post accurate, helpful information to make sure every voice in America is heard and every vote is counted. If you have a Twitter account, you can use it to tweet at celebrities telling them to encourage their followers to vote.
Tell Bill Gates, Miley Cyrus, and other influential people to help get out the vote!
Best,
Shuo with Fight for the Future
P.S. No social? No worries—forward this email to five friends to spread the word and ask them to help pressure the Twitter accounts with most followers to get out the vote.
