Tools for Immigration Justice Advocates

With immigrant justice issues before the Supreme Court — including the Trump administration's border wall funding and Remain in Mexico asylum policy — now is a good time to revisit two Opportunity Agenda resources: Talking About Separation at The Border and Six Tips on Talking About Supreme Court Decisions. Partner Stories: #JusticeOutLoud

Everything we are talking about in this month’s newsletter comes down to uplifting and protecting core social justice values such as Voice, Community, Opportunity, Redemption and Safety. We couldn’t do this values-based work without our partners, who define these values. We’d like to share two examples today: the restorative artwork of artivists Jesse Krimes and Russell Craig and a clip in which Color of Change President Rashad Robinson talks about the incredible power of story.

The Amp: Supreme Court Takes On Immigrant Justice Cases

This week, the Supreme Court added two major cases to its docket that immigration advocates will be watching closely. The first case seeks to end the Trump administration’s inhumane Remain in Mexico policy, which forces asylum seekers to wait indefinitely on Mexico’s side of the border. The second case concerns Trump's spending $6 billion on the border wall and militarization of border communities that Congress allocated for other purposes. We have messaging for both.
