Focused and fearless in the fight for what is right. That's Julie Gunnigle.
I first met Julie in 2017, and we quickly became campaign trail sisters because we share the same vision for what Arizona and our country should be for our kids and for all families in the community we love and call home.
Now, as our Democratic nominee for County Attorney, Julie needs our help, and I wouldn't be asking if this race wasn't so incredibly critical to protecting our rights.
With the recent nomination of Amy Coney Barrett to the Supreme Court, our reproductive rights are in danger. If Roe v. Wade were to be overturned, the Maricopa County Attorney will have the authority to prosecute women for their private healthcare decisions because Arizona still has laws that ban abortion and all forms of birth control.
Julie's opponent has pledged, in writing, that she would uphold this law and prosecute women for personal healthcare decisions. We can't let this happen.
I know Julie is the right woman for the job -- smart, tough and compassionate. In fact, the compassion she showed my children during my family's most difficult time in 2018, all while still fighting for democracy, is something I will never forget.
Now, Julie needs us. She will serve us well, but we have to get her elected.
