Hey John, The 2020 General Election is only 12 days away on Tuesday, November 3rd. It is time to take action if we want to see our elected officials prioritize the safety, health, and well-being of All Wisconsinites going forward! Remind A Friend Did you mail in your absentee ballot already? If yes, that is fantastic! To make an even more significant impact, remind at least three people in your life to cast their ballots, too! Hearing from a friend or loved one can be one of the most convincing reasons to vote! Return Your Absentee Ballot If you requested and received an absentee ballot but have not mailed it back, it is time to return it. Please contact your municipal clerk to determine a secure drop box where you can drop it off. We do not recommend that you mail it back at this point to ensure that your municipal clerk receives your ballot before the 8:00 pm deadline on Election Day, November 3rd. Before you drop it off, make sure that you have a witness signature. >> Find your municipal clerk by clicking this link (https://myvote.wi.gov/en-us/FindMyPollingPlace) and then clicking the blue "Find My Clerk" button on the left side of the page. Vote Early In-Person Were you unable to request an absentee ballot? Early, in-person voting is now open in Wisconsin. (Times vary by municipality.) Early voting may be an excellent option to avoid long lines at Election Day polls. Although the crowds can be exciting in a typical year, it is safer to choose an alternative option to vote if possible. Contact your municipal clerk to determine when and where you can vote in-person early. >> Find your municipal clerk here: https://myvote.wi.gov/en-us/FindMyPollingPlace Make A Plan To Vote on Election Day If you will be voting at the polls on Election Day, here is what to consider now. - Determine what time you will go (and if you need to make arrangements with your workplace to make this possible).
- Determine where your polling location is. Find it here: https://myvote.wi.gov/en-us/FindMyPollingPlace.
- Determine how you will get to the polls. If you need a ride, check with opportunities through VoteRiders and, in Milwaukee, Souls to the Polls or Expo/Wisdom/MICAH (414) 999-8993.
- Determine what you will need to bring: an acceptable photo ID, a mask, water, a black pen, hand sanitizer, comfortable shoes, etc.
- Add 866-OUR-VOTE (i.e., 866-867-8683) to the contact list in your phone, so you have the number to call if you need to report any election day issues.
