With less than two weeks until the election, rallies and events are happening all across the country as surrogates for Joe Biden and Donald Trump rally around their chosen candidate. At a Trump rally in Georgia last week, Senator David Perdue made racist comments about Senator and Vice Presidential candidate Kamala Harris, referring to her as “Kah-mah-lah? Kah-MAH-lah? Kamala-mala-mala”.
He’s been her colleague for over three years. He knows how to pronounce her name (unless he’s too dense to be a Senator?). This was a deliberate, desperate act of racism and disrespect.
We can’t allow this kind of racism from a United States Senator to go unchallenged, and we need to show Senator Harris that we have her back. As the first Black woman to be a major party Vice Presidential candidate, she is facing unprecedented and disgusting levels of racism — even from elected officials. Can you rush a donation so we can flip Georgia blue and kick David Perdue out of office this November?

Senator Harris is an amazing addition to the Presidential ticket, and we’re so glad to have her. But the amount of disrespect she’s received from pundits and politicians alike is disgusting and Un-American.
This type of behavior is sickening, and it’s unacceptable. It has no place in our public discourse, and we’re appalled that a Senator would stoop this low, double down, and refuse to apologize. Republicans used these racist attacks against former President Obama and we should never let it happen to any other politician.
We’re getting close to the election, so we need to send a strong message that this will not be tolerated. Senator Perdue pretended to be confused about how to pronounce Kamala Harris’ name to further divide us and to make people think of her as not one of us. In November, we want him to be confused by how HUGE his re-election defeat is. Will you rush a donation now to make that happen?
