Dear Friends:

After eight years on the school board and two years as your State Representative, I consider myself a public servant more than an active partisan. I try to approach people and issues with an open mind rather than a partisan or rigid ideological agenda. In today’s divisive political climate, this type of leadership is very hard to achieve – but always worth striving for. 

In the past ten days, my opponent Jason Kropf and I have debated multiple times in virtual and in-person settings. After our debates, it’s clear that Jason and I agree on many of the major challenges facing Bend and Oregon, but we have very different ideas about the policies and solutions needed to address them. That is OK. Elections are about choices.

I pride myself on listening when people share their concerns. I know that during this unprecedented time, with so many challenges facing our families and so much negativity in our national politics, you want something different here in Bend--so do I. 

Therefore, effective immediately and through election day, I will run only advertising that highlights my positive record for Bend families. I am hoping Jason will do the same. Perhaps together we can set an example locally for the change we want to see in our national politics.

To do this, I need your continued financial support. Please consider making a final contribution to help us not only finish 100% positive, but help us achieve victory. 

I am proud of my record of moderate, independent leadership. From COVID-19 economic relief, to funding and improving our schools, to expanding affordable housing, to expanding access to health care – I’ve delivered. 

I am also proud that even in the face of loud, partisan and extreme voices, I refuse to back down in fighting for the things I believe in – like ensuring our kids and communities are vaccinated and safe from dangerous diseases.
