John, we are at an historical inflection point.
During the last four years, we’ve seen landmark environmental laws erode, begging the questions: Is the air we breathe safe? Is the water we drink clean? And as the 2020 presidential election draws near amid a global pandemic, Ceres is riddled with great uncertainty—and we need our most dedicated members at our side immediately.
Ceres’ fiscal year closes in less than two weeks, and what we raise now determines how ambitious we can be for our climate and how many companies and investors we can influence to become more sustainable—even when they aren’t legally required to do so.
That’s why we’re calling on ALL of our generous supporters, including YOU, to step forward for our shared work in these next 12 months and beyond.
Please, stand at our side—your partnership has rarely been quite so urgent. Make a fiscal year-end gift immediately to protect our planet.

John, it’s difficult to overstate the importance of this moment for our shared vision of a sustainable future.
Our planet, our lifeblood, is truly in crisis, and as environmental protections weaken, we must each seize this moment to step forward. The collaborative work we do together with companies, investors, and regulators is more critical than ever, and requires your immediate support.
We must work overtime. We must do more.
Just consider the progress we’ve already made in the last 12 months thanks to supporters like you. With you at our side we’ve:
-
Launched the U.S.’s first corporate electric vehicles alliance to advance fleet electrification commitments and policy. This initiative is 19 companies strong and has moved Lyft to commit to full vehicle electrification within the decade.
-
Hosted the largest-ever corporate advocacy day on climate change at Capitol Hill. We united more than 330 businesses, including 12 Fortune 500 companies, to call on members of Congress, from both sides of the aisle, to create a climate-sensitive, resilient economy.
-
Urged oil and gas companies to address climate risk, including Chevron, whose shareholders voted to align with the Paris Agreement, and Southern Company, which pledged to achieve net-zero greenhouse emissions by 2050.
These are just a few examples of tremendous success this year, despite the current state of the world.
We need more wins across all of our programs and every single one needs broad support—needs you, John.
We don’t know what the next 12 months will have in store, and we need your help to guarantee the most productive, ambitious year Ceres has ever had.
Raise your hand with a gift that will bolster our important work, no matter what political future lies in store.
Donate today—and help us close our fiscal year on strong footing. >> |
Thank you for your urgent attention,
Barbara
