That's 12 days for Donald Trump and his Republican allies to suppress the vote and try to steal the election—and 12 days in which we must be more vigilant than ever to protect the integrity of the election.
Already in this election, we've seen Americans forced to stand in line for 11 hours to vote due to blatant voter suppression.
We've heard Donald Trump urge his supporters and police to show up at polling places to intimidate voters in heavily Black and Latinx precincts.
Texas governor Greg Abbott imposed a limit of just one dropbox per county to make it harder to vote.
Postmaster general Louis DeJoy slowed down mail delivery to sabotage vote-by-mail. Other GOP lawmakers have done the same.
And if Trump loses, he's said he may not accept the results and is reportedly angling for Republican state legislatures to overrule the will of the voters through the Electoral College.
To protect the integrity of this all-important election, it is absolutely imperative that our team of journalists at Common Dreams be there to blow the whistle on every dirty trick pulled. We believe that if the American people have the facts, they will not stand by and allow this election to be stolen.
