Dear John,
Supreme Court Nominee Amy Coney Barrett is a clear and dangerous threat to everything we value and fight for. From abortion access and affordable health care, to LGBTQ+ and immigrant rights, to racial justice. It’s all on the line.
READ: Our fellow Dr. Abbey Hardy-Fairbanks of Iowa wrote an op-ed warning that the threats to our bodily autonomy and health care posed by this nomination are not hypothetical.
As a doctor who provides reproductive health care, including abortion, and who advocates for access to this care, Dr. Hardy-Fairbanks is one of millions of health care providers deeply concerned about Barrett’s record of opposing abortion and the Affordable Care Act.
“If her worldview becomes reality, it would decimate the right to bodily autonomy, eviscerate access and coverage of health care for those who need it most, turn back protections for survivors of sexual harassment, and undo decades of progress for LGBTQ+ communities and people of color.”
The numerous crises we are facing require urgent action from all of us. Our country needs real support for our health care providers and patients, not ideological attacks or extremist judges.
What you can do: John, can you call your Senators today and tell them to reject Judge Barrett for the Supreme Court?
The Senate Judiciary Committee voted this morning to advance her nomination to a full vote in the Senate. Senators should focus on passing COVID relief, not on rushing a hearing during the very real, ongoing threat of the pandemic.
Thank you for using your voice to protect the care every one of us deserves and sticking with us in this fight.
With gratitude,
Jennifer Blasdell
