We can't wait any longer to act.? ? ? ? ? Friend ? an ABC News/Washington Post poll is now reporting North Carolina is a toss-up in both the presidential race and the Senate contest.
This is one of the most critical swing states this election ? Trump is relying on its 15 electoral votes to have a shot at reelection. Some polls had Biden in a stronger position just a couple weeks ago ? if the trend continues, we could be giving this election away to Trump.
The same thing is happening in the Senate race where we're hoping to unseat Thom Tillis. Some polls had him down by as much as 10 points just a couple weeks ago. Now the race is deadlocked.
Bottom line ? if we turn out every environmental voter in North Carolina, we shut down Trump's chances at reelection and take an environmental majority in the Senate.
But as things stand ?that's just not happening. Environmental voter turnout efforts are still underfunded, and we're almost out of time here.
A group of donors have put together a triple match fund ? but in the final days of this election, we need your help.
Friend: Donate today. Every dollar will be triple matched. Even $3 is enough to make a difference ? [link removed]
We're connecting with voters every day in battleground states, and it's 100% true that this race is way closer than it looks. Not just North Carolina, but in Florida, Pennsylvania, Arizona, Iowa, Michigan, and many other states.
Win and it means we're finally in a real position to advance federal policies that put people most impacted by pollution and climate change at the center of solutions ? especially communities of color, Indigenous communities, and low-wealth communities.
We're reaching out today, because we know the environmental movement has the potential to decide the outcome. In North Carolina ? and in every swing state.
But the situation in North Carolina is complex. The race has been shaken up in recent weeks by Trump pledging not to allow offshore drilling off North Carolina's coast. Offshore drilling is wildly unpopular with voters in the state (and Florida too). Thom Tillis followed his lead ? and now they're both gaining ground.
Pulling away from offshore drilling would be great news if it wasn't total BS ? the Trump administration was already pushing plans to start drilling. And Thom Tillis had been one of the biggest proponents of drilling in the Senate, until this last-minute change of heart, conveniently right before the election.
The problem is that voters still aren't hearing the other side. We need to ramp up outreach efforts in a major way because when we do connect with voters, our research shows voting behavior shifts away from Trump in a major way.
Your contribution can make a real difference here. We're running vote-by-mail operations, getting millions of calls to environmental voters completed, and running peer-to-peer text operations. These are all efforts that can scale up quickly.
Please ? don't wait to make a contribution. Every day we wait to scale up is a missed opportunity to connect with voters. Even $3 can help ? [link removed]
Thank you for everything you do, friend. North Carolina could swing this whole election ? and we can win here with you on our side.
