John,

The Senate Judiciary Committee is expected to meet today to approve Amy Coney Barrett’s nomination -- despite opposition from a majority of Americans.

Donald Trump’s chosen successor for women’s rights advocate Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg has a long history of ruling against women. Barrett has been hyper-critical of the Affordable Care Act -- a program that expanded preventative care services like mammograms for millions of women and prevents health insurance providers from charging women more than men for the same health care coverage.

Last week when questioned on the importance of Roe v. Wade, the decision that helped ensure a woman’s right to obtain a safe abortion, Amy Coney Barrett disturbingly said the ruling was not a “superprecedent” that should be protected from reversal.

Barrett’s confirmation to the Supreme Court acts in direct threat to the American public, especially to women’s rights. But as The New York Times reports, the GOP is hoping to use the confirmation to “stoke enthusiasm among their base but also coax back independent voters, especially women.” Some believe that the GOP is completely removed from the reality of the issues women are facing, but today we want to gauge how voters are feeling about the next possible lifetime nominee to the Supreme Court:

Do you approve of Amy Coney Barrett?
