This is Theresa Greenfield, and I'm running for the U.S. Senate in Iowa. Kirsten said I could email you to tell you about my campaign to flip the Senate -- the closest race in the whole country.
My first husband was a union electrician. When he died tragically in an accident at work, I didn't know what to do. While I was picking up the pieces, Social Security survivor benefits helped keep my family out of poverty.
So when I heard that Senate Republicans were looking to gut Social Security, it made my blood boil.
Social Security saved my family -- it’s the reason I’m in this fight today to flip this Senate seat. But this is bigger than just one Senate race: we only need to flip four seats to take back the Senate. It's more important than ever before that we flip the Senate, and Iowa is a must-win.
Control of the Senate hinges on Iowa and I need your help. Will you pitch in $25, or whatever you can, to help us in the home stretch of this campaign? [[link removed]]
Our race is neck-and-neck and poll after poll shows it. Nate Silver's FiveThirtyEight calls this race a toss up. That's why Mitch McConnell and his allies are spending over $80 million on our race to stop this grassroots team.
We’re fighting tooth and nail for every single vote. But Iowans are already going to the polls, and I need your help in the home stretch. Our team is reaching voters over the phone, online, and on TV. Your support ensures we have the resources we need to reach as many voters as we can to flip this seat in these last few days.
I'm running this campaign the right way -- without a dime in contributions from corporate PACs. That means I’m counting on grassroots supporters like you to help us close the gap right away. Pitch in $25 or more now to help defeat my Republican opponent and flip the Senate. [[link removed]]
Let's get to work,
Theresa
