TWO MODERN MASTERPIECES: FARNSWORTH HOUSE AND THE GLASS HOUSE
Photographer Robin Hill, whose work blends architecture and design with the
natural world, found himself inspired by the work of Ludwig Mies van der Rohe
and Philip Johnson. His exhibition uses diptychs to bring similarities and
differences of each house together.

PRESIDENT WOODROW WILSON HOUSE MARKS THE 19TH AMENDMENT AT 100
When the COVID-19 pandemic closed the doors of Washington, D.C.’s President
Woodrow Wilson House in spring 2020, preservationists looked beyond the walls of

This week, the Tidal Basin Ideas Lab—a partnership between the National Trust
for Historic Preservation, Trust for the National Mall, and the National Park
Service, alongside civic partner Skidmore, Owings & Merrill (SOM)—unveiled
proposals from five leading landscape architecture firms that reimagine the
future of Washington D.C.’s iconic Tidal Basin and National Mall. Visit the
