John,
In just a bit, I’ll walk on stage for our next debate.
Nights like tonight are full of pressure, and I’ve been given lots of good advice. You have to demand enough time to talk; articulate your points; come across as level-headed and passionate at the same time. There’s a lot riding on everything.
But when I step off stage, I have just one barometer for success — and that’s whether or not I represented you all well enough. All the grassroots volunteers and donors who’ve stepped up for this campaign: Did I do justice to your voice, your ideas, and your strength on stage?
I said from the beginning that I can’t do this on my own. Winning demands a movement — the inspiration, ideas, and energy will have to come from all of us. The best I can do is try to channel it on that debate stage tonight.
I’m going to work hard to make you proud tonight.
Beto
