Here are four ways your support makes a difference.

===================================

Pandemic relief and economic equity:
Everyone should have access to basic resources — nutritious food, clean water, a place to call home, healthcare, hygiene supplies. AFSC is supporting mutual aid initiatives in communities worldwide — and advocating to make critical benefits like SNAP (food assistance), Medicaid, and unemployment insurance more widely available in the U.S.

Humane responses to migration:
In the U.S. and other countries, those fleeing violence, poverty, and climate disruption are unfairly demonized and subjected to harsh interrogation procedures, family separation, and other abuses. We are supporting migrant and refugee-led efforts to replace unjust polices with welcoming, compassionate responses that respect the worth and dignity of all people.

Global peacebuilding initiatives:
As we navigate these times of climate change, authoritarianism, public health crises, and unprecedented migration, our future as a global community depends on one another. AFSC is working with community partners in Africa, Asia, the Middle East, and Latin America to preserve civic space, resist militarism and violence, and build conditions for peace.

New approaches to community safety:
Today, the U.S. holds 2.3 million people in prisons, jails and immigrant detention centers — the vast majority of whom are Black, Brown, and poor. We are mobilizing for bold new initiatives that replace racist institutions with transformation, healing, and community well-being.
