Friend,
As a Palestinian-American and progressive activist, I’ve been thrilled to work with Rep. Rashida Tlaib. Earlier this year, Rashida came to me with an idea to support movement-connected candidates and organizations, so we could build progressive power from the bottom up.
Since we launched the Rooted in Community Leadership PAC, we’ve already donated to over 20 candidates and organizations who are doing the critical work on the ground―fighting for environmental, racial, social, and economic justice.
As Rashida wrote in the email below: “We are done waiting. From local to national campaigns, we are going to demand that people like us are at the table.” Are you in?
Donate now to Rashida’s Rooted in Community Leadership PAC to build the power we need to make change. Together, let’s support, train, and elect a new generation of leaders.
We’ve already contributed to a wide range of groups and campaigns—from progressive Democratic challenger Marie Newman for Congress in Illinois’ 3rd congressional district to Mondaire Jones for Congress in New York’s 17th congressional district. From Black and brown candidates for local and federal office to organizations fighting for racial and economic justice on the ground in communities across the country—we need to ramp up our support and we need your help.
The Rooted in Community Leadership PAC is our way to ensure our voices are being heard in the halls of Congress and state and local offices, in our communities, and in the workplace.

Friend,
Before I ever ran for office, I was a political organizer and activist fighting for environmental, racial, and social justice.
For me, political organizing has always been local. It’s about working with my community to stop environmental racism. It’s about fighting back against an unjust status quo that marginalizes my neighbors and myself. It’s about joining together to make change happen.
In order to build the power we need to stand up to the billionaire bullies who poison our air and water and keep us from earning fair wages and benefits, we must train and elect a new generation of leaders. That’s why my team and I created the Rooted in Community Leadership PAC.
Can you become an inaugural donor to our Rooted in Community Leadership PAC today to build progressive power and invest in the leaders of tomorrow?
Already this year we’ve provided grassroots trainings and mentorship to young candidates and activists, and those becoming involved in politics for the first time.
We’re centering people power, shaking the table, and demanding real transformative change.
Through the Rooted in Community Leadership PAC, we’re supporting progressive candidates―especially women of color―who share our values and determination to build a better future for BIPOC (Black, Indigenous, and People of Color) communities. We understand that field organizing requires helping change people's lives for the better today.
We are done waiting. From local to national campaigns, we are going to demand that people like us are at the table. Congress and city council can’t just look more like America; they also have to speak and listen differently. Our lived experiences are what will ensure we move with a sense of urgency that is lacking at all levels of government.
To send more progressive women of color to Congress and elect a new generation of leaders, I need your help. Become an inaugural donor to our Rooted in Community Leadership PAC today to build progressive power in 2020 and beyond!
