As long as I've been in Congress I've counted on my friend Peter DeFazio to be a bold, principled, progressive leader - unafraid to take a stand, speak his mind, confront powerful special interests, and keep presidents of both parties in check.

Let me be clear about something: the only reason Peter's opponent has a chance is because he's raised an absurd amount of money. That's because Republican leadership - Trump, Kevin McCarthy, Ted Cruz, Devin Nunes, and more - have directed right-wing extremists around the country to donate to defeat Peter.

So far they've funnelled more than $3.5 million - more than any Congressional race in Oregon's history - into our state.

Now, Alek Skarlatos, along with huge right-wing Super PACs, is outspending Peter 3-to-1, flooding the airwaves and social media with misleading, even outright false, ads attacking Peter.

We can't let Skarlatos and his wealthy funders set the agenda for the last two weeks. Chip in now so Peter can fight back!

In his time in Congress, Peter has been on the front lines of our most important progressive fights: creating good-paying jobs, addressing our climate crisis, expanding access to health care for all, preserving reproductive rights, election security, you name it. The list goes on. But here's the bottom line: Peter is leading the charge on behalf of our most vulnerable.

His opponent wants to overturn Roe vs. Wade and repeal the Affordable Care Act. He opposes all gun safety measures, including background checks. He even opposes another relief package for working families and small businesses hit by the coronavirus pandemic.
