Eleven state treasurers are calling on Gilead Sciences to reduce the price of their drug remdesivir, the only currently approved treatment in the US for COVID-19.[1]
A peer-reviewed study suggested that one dose of remdesivir can be produced for as little as 93 cents.[2] Most patients receive a five-day treatment of remdesivir. Gilead is charging thousands of dollars per treatment.

This bipartisan coalition of state treasurers is following in the footsteps of an earlier bipartisan group of attorneys general, who called Gilead’s pricing of remdesivir “outrageous.”[3]
Over 200,000 Americans have died from COVID-19. This virus doesn’t discriminate between red states and blue states. It doesn’t discriminate between the wealthy or the working class.
These bipartisan elected officials from across the country — and across the political spectrum — have come together to stand against Gilead’s unreasonable prices. These officials are standing up for people by fighting Gilead’s abhorrent greed and opportunism. Help us power the movement to lower drug prices.
Together we can stop Big Pharma in its tracks. Be part of the movement. Chip in to help us lower drug prices!
