College students are facing new challenges to completing their degrees in the wake of the coronavirus pandemic. They have abruptly left their campuses, shifted to online learning, navigated drastically different institutional protocols around COVID-19, and are increasingly concerned for their mental health. While enrollment has fallen in many places, it is growing at private for-profit colleges, which in past recessions have left too many students with high debt and no degree. Yet the current administration has curtailed accountability policies that would protect students and borrowers from these conditions.

Please join the Center for American Progress <[link removed]> for a timely conversation with leading higher education experts to discuss why accountability still matters during a pandemic, students’ current concerns, and what actions policymakers should take to ensure that students have access to high quality programs and borrowers are protected from financial distress.
