It's simple: As Ohio goes, so goes the nation.
Ohio is a crucial 2020 battleground -- and not just for the presidential race. There are critical races happening up and down the ballot in Ohio and it's important that we help send Democrats to sweeping victories on November 3rd.
That includes my friend Kate Schroder who's running to turn Ohio's 1st District blue.
Kate's race is a toss up and grassroots support is essential to pushing her over the finish line in just 2 weeks. If you can, will you split a contribution between her campaign and mine?
Kate is a champion for health care.
She's a cancer survivor and a mom who managed global children's health programs and has held leadership positions in the health industry. She's built a strong campaign by talking to Ohio families about how access to health care has impacted their lives, and her fight to make it more affordable and protect coverage for pre-existing conditions.
Kate is running for the House at an important time. Republicans repeatedly voted to repeal the Affordable Care Act, and now, they're taking their attack on health care to the Supreme Court.
The Supreme Court is expected to hear arguments in a Trump-backed lawsuit that could eliminate the ACA a week after the election. And right now, Trump and Mitch McConnell are trying to rush through their Supreme Court nominee before Election Day.
Republicans are trying to take away health care in the middle of a pandemic. Kate is fighting to protect it for Ohio families.
And here's the good news: Ohioans are already turning out to vote in record numbers. 2.1 million Ohioans have requested mail-in ballots, and 193,000 Ohioans cast ballots during the first week of early voting. That's triple the number during the same period in 2016.
We can do this, but we need to push hard these last weeks before Election Day and throw all of our support behind Democrats like Kate. If you can, will you split a contribution between her campaign and mine?
With gratitude,
Sherrod
