Trump has finally reached his breaking point with
the coronavirus pandemic.
He told a team of advisors earlier this week that,
“people are tired of hearing Fauci and these idiots.” He called
Dr. Fauci, the federal government’s leading infectious disease
expert, a “disaster” and wished that the coronavirus would leave
him alone.

Even for Trump, this is low. This is unhinged, and
it’s costing people's lives.
This isn’t the first time Trump has lashed out
against Dr. Fauci. The nation’s preeminent infectious disease
expert has received so many death threats fueled by the
President’s reckless attacks and threats that he can’t go out in
public without a security team by his side.
In what other countries besides authoritarian petty
dictatorships do scientists have to fear for their lives as they
guide a course through the deadliest pandemic of our time?
Trump has got to go, along with every elected
official who enabled him to lead with such wanton disregard. It’s
as simple as that.
