This year sample ballots are critical. Most offices will not have a Party designated for the candidates. That means that faithful Democratic voters who want to vote for our candidates will not know who the Democrats are without a sample ballot. We must have volunteers at the polls the entire time the polls are open to assist voters with identifying their candidates.

In-person absentee voting (aka “early voting”) begins at the Government Center on Friday, September 20 and is available every weekday and 5 Saturdays. We need lots of volunteers to help cover this location. Please sign up for a specific shift here.

Please join the League of Women Voters-Fairfax Area (LWV-Fairfax) for a Candidate Forum with the two candidates for Sully District Supervisor and the two candidates for Sully District School Board Member. This forum is scheduled for Wednesday, September 25 at 7:30 PM at the Sully District Governmental Center, 4900 Stonecroft Blvd., Chantilly. The Democratic candidate for Sully District Supervisor is Kathy Smith (incumbent) and candidate for Sully District School Board Member who received the endorsement from the Fairfax County Democratic Committee (FCDC) is Stella Pekarsky.

The LWV-Fairfax is co-sponsoring, along with twenty-two local organizations, several Candidate Forums throughout Fairfax County during this election season.

The League’s forums . . . “are nonpartisan. The League never supports or opposes any party or candidate. [They] invite all certified candidates competing for office in their respective districts. After a moderated discussion, there will be time to meet the candidates.”

Please join the Great Falls Citizens Association (GFCA) for a Candidate Townhall with the six candidates for At-Large School Board and the three candidates for Dranesville District School Board Member. This townhall is scheduled for Wednesday, September 25 at 7:30 PM at Forestville Elementary School, 1085 Utterback Store Rd., Great Falls. The three candidates for School Board Member who received the endorsement from the Fairfax County Democratic Committee (FCDC) are: Karen. Keys-Gamarra (incumbent), Abrar Omeish and Rachna Sizemore Heizer. Elaine Tholen is the Dranesville District candidate who received the endorsement of the Fairfax County Democratic Committee.
The GFCA’s townhalls are nonpartisan. They do not support  oppose any party or candidate and invite all certified candidates competing for office in their respective districts.
