Indivisibles,

Have you heard? We’ve got BIG plans to mobilize if Trump loses the
election and refuses to leave office -- [ [link removed] ]it’s called Protect the
Results. We’ve created a coalition of more than 100 organizations that are
committed to protecting our democracy if Trump and his desperate
Republican allies throw our country into a manufactured constitutional
crisis.

Here’s the plan: we will hit the streets in our communities and demand
that every vote be counted, even if it takes days or weeks to get an
accurate count from critical states, especially given the expansion of
mail-in and absentee voting during the COVID-19 pandemic. We will organize
to ensure that the loser concedes and that Congress, the Electoral
College, and state officials honor the accurate, final vote count.

And while we’re still 13 days away from Election Week, we’re seeing these
plans come to fruition in a significant way.

Last week, Protect the Results launched the event map, [ [link removed] ]which has more
than 240 events (and counting!) nationwide! Activists like you are
organizing their communities to prepare to mobilize in case of a
worst-case scenario (and trust us, experts are concerned too). These
efforts are a huge undertaking, and that’s why we’ve been so focused on
developing mobilization strategies and planning for what our response
needs to look like to protect our democracy. We’ve created a toolkit just
for organizers to help them prepare for possible mobilization.

If you’re ready to join the effort to save our democracy in the event of a
constitutional crisis, click below to sign up. We need you now more than
ever.

In addition to the map launch, this week Protect the Results received some
great press from [ [link removed] ]CNN, [ [link removed] ]The Hill, and [ [link removed] ]Newsweek. Media attention is
critical to helping Protect the Results recruit volunteers and activists
and inform the general public on the concerns that this coalition and
democracy experts have been expressing for the last year.

Here’s why we need to Protect the Results

Nearly every day we’re bombarded with tweets, statements, or whisperings
from Trump and his administration attempting to undermine the election’s
validity and cast doubt on the results. Trump has said publicly that if he
loses, it’s because the election was rigged. He’s refused to commit to
accepting the results, and in doing so, he’s stoking chaos and fear. With
every passing day, it’s becoming more apparent how desperate Trump and his
GOP allies are to hold onto power by any means necessary.

That’s why Protect the Results was created. If Trump declares victory
before all the votes are counted, makes unfounded claims that the election
was “stolen,” tries to stop votes from being counted, or otherwise
threatens the election’s integrity or the peaceful transition of power,
Protect the Results will activate nationwide mobilizations.

Here are a few things you can do in the next few days to help save our
democracy and protect the results:

* [ [link removed] ]Sign up to join an event or create an event in your community --
we’re 13 days away from the election, and we need all the help we can
get.
* Talk to your friends and family about Trump and the GOP’s efforts to
rig this election and why it’s essential to demand that all the votes
are counted. These conversations will be critical in the days
ahead.
* [ [link removed] ]Donate to help make all our plans possible. We’re making a massive
effort and using critical resources to support this coalition work. If
we have to put our plans into action, we’re expecting to spend over
$1.2 million, and we need your help.

We truly hope we won’t have to use these plans to mobilize on Nov. 4, but
we’re making sure that we’re ready just in case. Whatever happens, we
appreciate your commitment to saving our democracy and supporting your
communities.

In solidarity,
Indivisible Team
