A Whole Student View
Now more than ever, teachers need easier ways to engage one-on-one with students and ensure they feel seen and heard.
CZI is partnering with Gradient Learning, teachers, students and researchers to create Along– a new interactive video journal that makes it easier for teachers to forge strong relationships with students, whether they’re back in the classroom or learning remotely.
Along, which is in pilot phase, was developed by educators for educators and incorporates research from the fields of learning science and human development about the importance of positive relationships to academic success. This tool supports teachers in helping students develop life skills–like stress management, organization and motivation – fostering well-being and bolstering their overall achievement.
At CZI, we aim to help build a future where every child enters adulthood with the knowledge, skills, habits, and agency they need to realize their full potential and where race and income are not predictors of student success. We do this by partnering with practitioners closest to the work, to bring research to life in the classroom. We look forward to continuing to work with teachers, students and researchers to develop the tool, ultimately helping more teachers across the country meet the needs of the whole child.
