We the People value our health care and our civil rights. But Senate Republicans don’t seem to agree.
Instead of listening to the will of the People by waiting for the election and inauguration of the next president in 2021, Senate Republicans are ramming through Donald Trump’s nomination in what will be the shortest confirmation period in history!
We can’t let Senate Republicans put our lives and our rights at risk for such a blatant partisan power grab. There's too much at stake.
On Saturday, Trump officially nominated Amy Coney Barrett to fill the seat vacated by the passing of Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg. Barrett has a deeply troubling judicial record that indicates she’d be a severe threat to health care, especially for people with preexisting conditions, as well as to other vital protections and fundamental rights.
Confirming an anti-health care, far-right justice to the Supreme Court in the midst of a pandemic would be catastrophic for millions of people across the country. COVID-19 is now one of the most widely spread preexisting conditions in the world – and the protections provided by the Affordable Care Act could be stripped away as early as this upcoming Supreme Court term.
This confirmation would put health care and reproductive rights at grave risk and even has the potential to turn back the clock on voting rights, racial equity, rights for LGBTQ Americans, environmental protections, and more! Multiple polls confirm that a majority of Americans do not want a new Supreme Court justice to be confirmed until after the inauguration of our next president.
Tell Senate Republicans that you're ready to hold them accountable if they betray our rights and our democracy.
