Dear John,

As you no doubt know, the federal spending has reached record levels as the government continues to respond to the health and economic fallout of coronavirus.

The deficit in fiscal year 2020 will be an incredible $3.3 trillion, more than triple the deficit last year. The national debt will increase from $26 trillion to $39 trillion, or more than 45 percent, over the next 10 years. This will have a devastating impact on our economy, and create a significant threat to our freedom and liberty, if we do not get spending under control immediately.

Fortunately, CAGW has a comprehensive plan to shrink the size of wasteful big government, slash federal spending, and save America from bankruptcy, *but I need your help today to mobilize the public outcry necessary to get Congress to act on our proposals [ [link removed] ]*.

[ [link removed] ]Our just-released *"Prime Cuts 2020 [ [link removed] ]"* report demonstrates how to eliminate the worst waste in government and prevent the terrible consequences of the projected massive deficits and debt. This year's edition of our annual report, which we have issued since 1993, identifies *593 specific recommendations* from *bipartisan and nonpartisan sources* that would save taxpayers *$444 billion in the first year* and *$4 trillion over five years*.

What's more, thanks to your dedicated support and activism, our recommendations have saved taxpayers more than $1.9 trillion since CAGW was established in 1984.

John these results are even more impressive when we consider that curbing runaway federal spending is the most difficult task in Washington. Every program or agency has a powerful constituency that will fight tooth-and-nail against any cut to its funding.

And while many members of Congress pay lip service to "fiscal responsibility" and feign outrage over big deficits and the growing debts, we both know that they relentlessly push for more wasteful spending that they believe will help themselves get re-elected.

"*Prime Cuts 2020 [ [link removed] ]*" is the single best weapon we have to rein in these big spenders, cut the deficit, and curb the growth in our nation's massive debt that is jeopardizing our children's and grandchildren's future.

*John, CAGW needs your financial support today to promote our latest Prime Cuts report and get its recommendations in the hands of elected officials, budget analysts, news editors, and local anti-waste activists across the country. [ [link removed] ]*

It is absolutely urgent that we promote this report right now. When Congress returns after the election, they will get back to work on large spending bills that will fund the federal government for fiscal year 2021.

We must work immediately to get our report in front of key congressional decision-makers and demonstrate in no uncertain terms that it is endorsed by taxpayers like you all across the country who want Congress to act on our waste-slashing recommendations to restore fiscal sanity and prevent a major economic disaster.

John, please help us seize this opportunity before the elections to win as many wasteful spending cuts after the elections by making your largest possible contribution of *$* [ [link removed] ], *$ [ [link removed] ]*, or even *$ [ [link removed] ]* today. "Thank you in advance for your support."
Sincerely,

Thomas A. Schatz
President
