Friend,

Earlier this year, I promised that the NDRC would keep fighting for fair redistricting in 2021 no matter how tough it gets. We knew this year would be a hard fight, but frankly, I didn't anticipate some of the things Republicans are doing to retain power.

Recently, court-ordered restrictions that barred the Republican party from engaging in voter intimidation tactics at the polls for decades were ended. Now, Republicans and the Trump campaign are recruiting an army of "poll watchers" to flood polling places. In the past, these efforts have targeted communities of color and were intended to scare voters away from casting their ballots.

There is more. In the middle of a public health crisis, Republicans all over the country are refusing to make it easier to vote by mail. And just last week, the conservative Supreme Court allowed the Trump administration to cut the 2020 Census short -- a move that will deny resources and representation to people of color and underserved communities.

Despite these extraordinary assaults on our democracy, we at the NDRC are working around the clock to ensure every American can safely vote this November. With just two weeks until voting ends around the nation, we're running out of time... and we could use all the help we can get.

This year's elections are too important to sit out. Can I count on you to pitch in any amount you're able to help us continue our work to defend voting rights and end gerrymandering?
