Dear John,

Winning and hope feels great.  Until it doesn’t.  

As you, I, and millions of other American’s cast our ballots, we want to believe better days are ahead.  And they can be. But the foundation of our Democratic party is still in question.

As I shared with the Los Angeles Times, we activists can’t pretend that a Biden Presidency alone will fix the major issues we have been championing: medicare for all, tuition forgiveness and racial justice. We will still need to stay in the streets in 2021.

Corporate Democrats like Nancy Pelosi haven’t cared about these issues. Instead, she’s chosen to delay further stimulus, after having prioritized tax breaks for millionaires in the first round.  

We’ll be in the streets after the election, but have a chance over the next two weeks to send new voices to Congress and chart a new course for the party—and our country.
