There’s no getting around it, John: If the polls are right, I could lose my re-election in two weeks.

What the polls don’t say, however, is that last cycle I was in a similar position right up until the eleventh hour. And, John, do you know what pushed me over the edge and helped me ultimately win by just a couple thousand votes? You, and grassroots supporters like you.

So I’m pleading with you to dig deep and help me out with whatever you can, when it matters most. Can you chip in $5, $15, or any amount?

Did you see our email from yesterday, John? Gil is DOWN one point against his Trump Republican opponent.

What we’re really worried about, John, is the cascade-effect this might have on the amount of money pushed into our district over the next two weeks: National GOP donors and special interests are going to interpret this data point as a reason to pour MILLIONS into California’s 39th in an effort to turn Orange County red yet again.

It’s important to clarify that more money in this race means that we expect Gil’s opponent to blanket this district with misleading attack ads in an effort to bolster her own candidacy. And frankly, John, without a significant boost to our online fundraising program, we’re not certain that we’re going to be able to counter these attacks the way we need to if we want to win.

So we’re coming to you directly, John. Can you please donate immediately to help us send a strong message to the GOP: California’s 39th is not for sale.
