George Miranda leads the Teamsters as President of Joint Council 16, a union of 120,000 workers in downstate New York. He and the Teamsters have been invaluable partners in bringing together immigrant, worker, and environmental justice goals, most recently in the campaign to transform the private sanitation industry here in New York City.

Maurice Mitchell’s movement building leadership spans his on-the-ground organizing in support of racial and economic justice, including with the Movement for Black Lives, along with his work as National Director of the Working Families Party and growing the WFP as a multi-racial populist party.

Sunrise Movement has played a critical role in growing a national youth-led movement that is sparking momentum on the climate crisis and catalyzing action on policies at the local, state, and federal level.
