All New Yorkers deserve a representative who will carry their voices to Washington, D.C. and ensure that no one is left behind or left out of the political process. That's why I endorsed Dana Balter for Congress in New York's 24th District.
Dana and I have a lot in common: we're both educators, we're both from New York, and we're both ready to get to Congress to achieve Medicare for All and build an economy that works for everyone, not just the wealthy few.
Dana's opponent, Trump Republican incumbent John Katko, has an A- rating from the NRA, and has said he'd overturn Roe v. Wade. Her campaign has been seeing attacks from all sides by the Katko campaign and his corporate special interests, stoking fear and division amongst voters in NY-24.
And with 14 days left to go until the election, these attacks against Dana's campaign will only continue — because NY-24 is a "Tossup" district, and Rep. Katko is one of the most vulnerable Republicans in Congress. They know they could lose, so they're resorting to hateful tactics and dog-whistles in order to stop this campaign and our growing progressive movement in its tracks.
We need to do everything we can now to make sure that Dana's team can push back against these hateful narratives and turn people out to vote in order to oust John Katko in favor of a representative who will invest in her constituents and push for bold, progressive change in Congress.
