Following the murders of George Floyd and Breonna Taylor, supermarket chains Kroger and Albertsons made statements supporting racial justice.

But these same grocery goliaths are funding a major campaign to roll back criminal justice reforms.

Together, Kroger and Albertsons have contributed nearly $200,000 toward a ballot measure that would turn the clock back on efforts in California to reduce mass incarceration and the rampant over-policing of people of color — including by creating a new potential felony of “organized retail crime.”

These corporations operate hundreds of supermarkets all across America under names like Acme, Albertsons, Food 4 Less, Harris Teeter, Kroger, Ralphs, Safeway, Shaw’s, and Vons.

We shouldn’t have to worry that we’re supporting mass incarceration just by going to the grocery store.

Tell Kroger and Albertsons: Stop fighting criminal justice reform.

Add your name.

Thanks for taking action.

Stay safe.
