Jewish Insider National Politics Reporter Jacob Kornbluh has spent months reporting on violations of COVID-19 restrictions in New York’s ultra-Orthodox communities. In early October, amid rising infection rates in predominantly Jewish areas of New York City, lockdown measures were instituted to curb the virus. On October 7th, Kornbluh, a Borough Park resident, was attacked while reporting on anti-lockdown protests in his own neighborhood. The attack prompted a move seldom seen: the Jewish Democratic Council of America and the Republican Jewish Coalition came together to issue a joint statement of condemnation of the attack. Join us for a special live recording of AJC’s podcast, People of the Pod, with Jacob Kornbluh, in discussion with co-host, Seffi Kogen, on why the ultra-Orthodox community has been so hard-hit by the pandemic, what is fueling the recent protests, and where the community should go from here. |
