Harshbarger receives Overwhelming Support from Law Enforcement Community

Kingsport, TN - Today, Republican Nominee for Tennessee’s First Congressional District, Diana Harshbarger, released a list of endorsements from Law Enforcement officials from across East Tennessee. The list includes over 20 County Sheriffs and Constables from every county in the First Congressional District.

“I am humbled and honored to have received the support of our Law Enforcement Community,” said Harshbarger. “From the beginning of my campaign, I've prioritized meeting with and listening to our Law Enforcement officers to learn how I can support their efforts when elected. Right now, Democrats want to defund the police and even roll back officer protections that would allow criminals to sue officers for doing their job. I want everyone to know that I will always support and stand up for our Police.”

Sullivan County Sheriff Jeff Cassidy
Carter County Sheriff Dexter Lunceford
Greene County Sheriff Wesley Holt
Cocke County Sheriff Armando Fontes

Unicoi County Sheriff Mike Hensley

Earlier this year, Democratic officials and candidates started calls to defund and, in some cases, abolish the police following the tragic incident with Mr. George Floyd. Instead of working with the Police Community to prevent tragic situations, Democrats reverted to dangerous rhetoric like calling for the removal of qualified immunity, which would allow criminals to sue officers for doing their duty.
